Child in the City 2010 – FINAL CALL TO REGISTER
Child in the City celebrates its 5th birthday. You are invited to the party!
- Florence on 27-29 October 2010 -
Child in the City inspires
The Child in the City Foundation aims to inspire cities in Europe to create an increasingly child friendly environment and to reduce child poverty. It does so by organising a Child in the City conference every other year. This year marks the 5th anniversary of this event, with UNICEF as one of its supporters.
The 5th edition of the Child in the City Conference will be held on 27-29 October in the city of Florence.

Child in the City fights child poverty
Inspired by the fact that 2010 is the ‘European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion’ the conference will focus on the theme of child poverty. By doing so, the conference will provide increased coverage of the whole Convention on the Rights of the Child. Child poverty is a problem in many countries.
At all political levels, including the local level, authorities should be aware of this problem and take appropriate measures. Child in the City 2010 will seek for best practices and solutions.
