NEWS UPDATE
The EEVC Scientific Reviewing Committee has selected over 130 high quality presentations from 22 countries. When setting up the program, special attention was paid that both industry representatives, researchers and private/public decision makers could all find a full session track of interest.
The congress will thus be both scientific and politic as the aim of the conference is to foster discussions between scientists, industry and authorities. It is indeed very important to develop an arena where the needs and constraints from the ones are well understood by the others. This is the only way to make sure that the most appropriate products or technologies for Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles are selected for market introduction.

ABOUT THE EVENT
One of the pillars of the European Commission’s policy to lower greenhouse gas emissions from transport and to reduce oil dependency is the strategy on alternative motor fuels to substitute 20% of the fossil fuel by 2020. In this framework, Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles will play an important role.
Owing to research and development progress, Battery and Hybrid Electric Vehicles are technically ready for a massive launch on the market while Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles still need a longer technological maturation process. In addition, the recent increases in oil prices remove the last economic barriers and the environmental concerns are rocketing.
It is vital though, from now on, to be able to define the technologies that lead to technological, environmental and economical acceptable solutions.
EEVC 2011 will gather the different actors, from industry, research institutes, NGO’s and public authorities, will global platform to foster exchange of views and will help to develop a roadmap for sustainable urban mobility technology.
