Early registration for the 2008 ENHR Conference closes on 25th April - register now

ENHR International Research Conference – Shrinking Cities, Sprawling Suburbs, Changing Countrysides, Dublin Ireland 6 – 9 July 2008
The Theme of this year’s ENHR Conference is Shrinking Cities, Sprawling Suburbs, Changing Countrysides and it will take place in University College Dublin, Ireland. Plenary speakers will address the main themes of the conference and there will be up to 24 Workshops covering specific housing research issues. The Conference will begin with study tours of various housing-related themes including, sustainability, affordable home ownership, rural housing, Traveller-specific accommodation, for example. Almost 400 abstracts have already been received by the organising committee and there is now only very limited availability remaining for some workshops. There is also a strong social calendar of social events including a walking tour of Dublin, the official opening, conference dinner and a more informal ‘Irish music and dancing night’. The conference website gives registration and submission details and also includes tourist information and accommodation details. Those planning to attend the conference are advised to arrive in Dublin no later than Sunday morning (6th July) to avail of the study tours and to attend the official opening. To coincide with the conference, a New Researcher Colloquium will take place on Saturday 5th July in Dublin (this was to be held in Jordanstown but will now take place in Dublin). The closing date for receipt of abstracts for the Colloquium is 30 May 2008. Those presenting papers at the Colloquium will have an opportunity to receive feedback and advice on their research from highly experienced housing research mentors. Those attending the Colloquium will also be able to attend the walking tour, study trips and the official opening.
