The International Transport Forum’s 2011 summit on Transport for Society will take place in Leipzig, Germany, on 25-27 May. Consult the preliminary programme and register now at www.internationaltransportforum.org/2011.
The International Transport Forum at the OECD is a strategic think tank for the transport sector. Its annual summit brings together ministers from over 50 countries, along with leading decision-makers and actors from the private sector, representatives of civil society and research, to debate transport issues of strategic importance.
In 2011, the summit will examine how the net benefits of transport for individuals and communities can be increased and the sector’s contribution to sustainable growth ensured.
Top Thinkers and Business Leaders announced!
A first group of top-notch speakers for the International Transport Forum’s 2011 summit are now official. Among them are Jeffrey Sachs, world-renowned economist and special advisor to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Peter Voser, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell, and sustainable urban planning legend Jaime Lerner, former Governor of Paraná province, Brazil.
Also among the prominent thinkers and decision makers speaking at the global summit of transport ministers in Leipzig (Germany) on 25-27 May will be Jeremy Rifkin, author of “The Empathic Civilization” and Enrique Peñalosa, former Mayor of Bogotá (Colombia) and a key advocate of “liveable communities”. Industry leaders Thomas Enders, CEO Airbus, and Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG, will also address the meeting.
